Speedco Rebranding

While doing my annual service last night at Speedco I noticed they were now carrying batteries and a few other service type items. I had inquired with the service manager who informed me Bridgestone had purchased Speedco, will be rebranding with the Bridgestone name and will be introducing more service items.

The staffs only concern is the new items will slow the service time down and potentially impact customer satisfaction. I see it as a positive as I can do more services at a drive in location.

By the way I had an estimate for my freightliner chassis battery to be changed (2) and they quoted $249 installed. Considering my local shop quoted well over double just for the batteries and $120/HR for service these services are probably well worth a second look.

I guess more to come from Speedco!

Bridgestone merged with Bandag (who owned 87% of Speedco) back in 2007.

Back in Nov 2015 Bridgestone made a huge donation, never seen one quiet like this:

Charitable donations are nothing new for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, but the tire maker took the concept of good works to a whole new level when it turned over the 19,000-sq.-ft. former Speedco headquarters building in Cayuga, IN, to the Valley Professionals Community Health Center, which plans to turn the facility into a health and social services support center for residents of northern Vermillion County. “The people of Cayuga and Vermillion County were paramount to the ...
