Speedometer problem

While decending NC Mountain, turned on the Grade Brake while in overdrive(the engine tach stayed at 3500rpm then the spedometer went to zero) now the spedometer works up to about 45mph then drops to zero. Has this happened to anyone? and what did you do for a fix?

What chassis are you on? You should take it to an authorized repair shop that can plug the computer into the ECM for diagnostics.

Speedometer problem

Thank you for the suggestion taking to the repair shop to read the code.
I have a Workhorse frame and will stop by a GM shop for the read out.
I just thought if some one else had this problem I could get an Idea how much it cost them to have it repaired.

I had a broken speedometer cable that worked (incorrect readings) when removed it came out in two pieces.

What make , year and model motorhome?

If it has an Actia instrument panel than you probably have a bad display unit.

I'm on my third panel in my 2004 Monaco LaPalma with the Workhorse w22 Chassis.

Mine were replaced due unreadable display. My current one "resets" and sets off all alarms and zero's all gauges every trip we take. I've learned to ignore it.
