Splendide 2100 XC DOA?

Brand new motorhome (2011 Newmar Ventana) 2 months ago. Factory installed WD 2100XC

In preparation for an upcoming trip I decided to test the washer for the first time.

No sign of life. Dedicated 20 amp circuit tested & good. Also tried on generator and with an extension cord. Water pressure good, door closed.

On/Off produces no lights, no clicks or noise. I'm stumped. Suggestions?

Dealer 90 mi away. Just wanted to see if there's anything easy to try before spending the time & diesel.

Had a similar unit in our previous motorhome so I am familiar with the general operation.

I'd suspect the cord and/or wiring from cord to machine.

Good idea. Not looking forward to trying to wiggle 150lbs of washer out of that small closet.

Hi hawgguy,
I'm not sure about your model, but you may be able to get the top off without removing the washer entirely from its' location. If you have a manual check and see. Also, there may be a small entry hatch at the side/rear of the enclosure. One might be able to get a stubby screw driver back there to remove the top screws. On earlier models, with the top removed, one can do a considerable amount of diagnostics.

Call Splendide and find out if there is a fuse in there somewhere. They do have a delayed startup. Seems like ours takes 90 seconds or so to come to life. Did you check all your GRID plugs?

The 2100 is quite a different internal design than the previous models, but still pretty simple. I would check the power cord itself to make sure it actually brings power to the main circuit board. If it does, the board is probably DOA. I gather there are no front lights on at all? Even if an interlock is active, the front light should be on to show power and status.

It's all but impossible to reach the top removal screws in the back without moving it out from the wall and getting behind it. And the back panel removes the same way as the previous models. Circuit board is in the bottom right corner.

I've checked the power in every which way. It's good. Dedicated circuit with its own breaker from Newmar.

I even tried with an extension cord from the house.

No indicator lights - no noise - zip zero nada.

emailed Splendide - they say take it to the dealer.

The good news - I get to drive my bus 90 miles (I like driving).
The bad news - diesel is $3.60 a gallon here.

The fridge in this thing was DOA too. First year bugs are fun.

Lets see...a 2011 coach under warranty, take it back to the dealer for a new washer.

$3.60 a gallon! Heck I should drain my $4.25 a gallon stuff so I could buy some cheap diesel.

I have found Splendide to be very helpfull on the phone. You will probably have to have the washer top off so that you can test with a volt meter at different points. They will walk you thru it and even send you a test proceedure by email.

If you are complaining about the cost of fuel to drive 90 miles, might I suggest that you purchased the wrong RV.

Brand new coach, why are you fussing trying to figure out what is wrong. Take it back to the dealer. BTW - they did tell you that with a brand new coach you get to be the quality control inspector, didn't they?

It is one thing to pay for fuel on a 90 mile pleasure trip. It is quite another to pay for it to get a warranty honored, especially if the trip could be avoided with a simple DYI fix. I don't blame the OP for wanting to avoid that expense. Even thiugh I could afford the trip, it would gall the tar out of me to do so then find out it was something simple I could have dealt with myself. Not to metion the trip to the dealer could involve having the rig tied up for several days.
