Squirrels -- Send Help !

Found a nest in my Battery compartment today, wires all look good- no evidence of chewed wires.
Any suggestions to get rid of them- the opening to the compartment is 4 in wide x 6 in tall and loaded with relays and POS + terminal strip. So steel wool is out. Was maybe thinking of Moth Balls.

Once you get rid of them cover the opening with metal hardware cloth. Looks like screen material but with much larger openings, roughly 3/8"

I was thinking of mothballs but happened to be fresh out of the moment

I use moth balls. A few, in a small metal dish, in the engine compartment. And some in the bays.
Haven't had any squirrels since I started using them.

I have had good luck with mothballs the last 9 years. Inside the unit I take old 35mm film containers, punch small holes in them, place 2-3 mothballs in each and put the containers around the RV. Outside the RV I place a few loose mothballs around the tires, on top of the tires, hitch.

after them tree rats did $3700 damage to my Allison wiring, I used mothballs.

Might likely be mice or rats. I have tree rats that come on the porch and eat out of my hand they never pay any attention to the M/H, other than if I'm under it working on it they will worry you to death over peanuts.

Did the 92 Eagle come with the 450 hp engine? Ours is only 300hp, 8.3, hubby was wondering what transmission is in the motorhome.

harbor freight sells a perfect solution. TRAP. trap them and give them a ride.

We had these critters in our pipe organ at church. They chewed up $2000 of pewter pipes. the Pastor, being a Godly man, suggested the use of the proverbial moth balls. After the repair was made, it took about three weeks and they chewed another set of pipes. they got immune to mothballs Now our Godly man was really disturbed and insisted on a Save a Heart Trap company. OK only $25 per day but it would save another $2000 for a rank of pipes.

There was no sign of the tree rats for about 2 months. THEN BAM!!!!
the suckers struck again this time chewed into the horn section and cost well over $4000. Well Pastor Godly now has a different version of, get rid of the Damn thing. The sexton finally set food on the floor of the altar and sat all day with a baseball bat and then BAM, cured the problem.

I take at least 20 tree rats a year from my home, to a new location about 10 miles away.

My Eagle has the 8.3C same as yours,with the Allison MD3060.
I bumped the power availability to 450 hp with a kit from TST in Columbus Indiana.>>TST Power Kit without Video (All Retired Cummins Engineers). I installed kit # 5. Prior to I call Allison Engineering and checked the MD3060 specs regarding adding more power and I Quote " 450 hp and another 300 ft lbs of Torque won't hurt a thing" for what I use my MH for. My last Oil analysis 3 months ago was near perfect !
