Wife said just Ignore it. After a while, it worked, I no longer notice the stains.

My son brought over an "extractor" they use to detail cars. It is a fancy carpet stem cleaner that heats it's own water and nas really good suction.

He cleaned a large spot up-front on the ceiling. Did a pretty good job, but didn't get it all. Stil slight stain when it dried.

I then used the 50/50 mix of bleach and water. WOW! Amazing results. The white carpet had black water stains at the wall line. It took 2 soak-downs, but it is now white again. Larger area is now white, too.

I'm a believer!

There is a product called "Get Serious". You actually microwave it. I got red wine stains out of white carpet two years later.

After a week of slowly working my way from front to back, the ceiling is all white again. Used a small, 8 oz spray bottle to apply the bleach. Had to refill several times.

What a difference it makes when you walk in. Looks good.
