staying at Walmart

Leaving Christmas day to go south from Chicago. Is there a protocol to staying 1 night at a Walmart? Do we need to call ahead and let them know or just show up?
Any advice would be helpful.

The few times we've stayed at Walmart, we go into the store and check with the greeter. They will tell you where to park your rig. There are some Walmarts that do not allow overnite parking, they will tell you if you can't stay. We haven't run into that problem yet. We've also stayed a couple times in rest areas, never had any problems there either.
