Steer Tires

While visiting a neighbor at the park I noticed that he had steer tires on all axels, that included the tag. I asked him about that and he said that's the way his Winnebago was delivered. Rv is is a Winnebago Tour. Any thoughts on why.

Tires meant for the front axle often have continuous grooves to channel water away to give better traction. Installing steer tires at all 6 positions gives more flexibility to rotate tires. I don't really see the need for drive tires in an RV.

Most tires OEM on motorhomes are marketed as “all position” tires.

Unless you intend to travel when roads are snow covered there is no reason to use a "lug style tread" tire on the drive axle. They will give you a slightly rougher ride and significantly increase the noise produced by tire/road contact.
