Steering and sway bars

Not sure if this is the right forum. 2004 Beaver Monterey Ventura Roadmaster chassis ISC 350.

Looking for recommendations for something like a steer safe. I went to their web sight but it did not look like they offered one for the road master or at least not this year.

Also do these coaches typically need heavier sway bars or an upgrade of any kind?

And last. Is there anything made to help dampen the front bounce when going over bridges at highway speeds. It has that typical bus bounce.

couple suggestions.


1. What are you looking for regarding your steer safe request? Lots of threads regarding that on IRV2. Several different manufactures for that item.


2. Go over to Monaco owners forum. A sticky near the top labeled "Monaco technical information" has 2 threads with way more information you could ever want about steering and swaying issues. If you have the same chassis, I believe you do, that's is important reading. There are a number of solutions.


3. Shocks dampen bounce. Not sure what "typical bus bounce" is in your comment, but if you're going up and down after the road bump several times, It might be your shocks. If your shocks are original, I'd bet they need replacement. I replaced mine several years ago and what a difference it made.

1) Looking for something mainly for a tire blow out. I remember from years ago this was a big thing to install. All though I never had an issue and know to throttle threw a blow out a little steering dampening is usually not a bad thing.

3) It sounds like shocks it is an 2004 62000 miles and the originals. By bounce I mean when a bus goes over a bridge that has a big dip or hump the front end tends to bounce up and down for a few times.

Many have the Safe-T-Plus. I got the blue ox brand for the same reason of a blow out. Hope I never need it. I do like it though. I can adjust the steering wheel for any type of cross winds.


Many of the Monaco brands used Monroe shocks as OEM. When I changed mine a few years ago, I could take one hand and push and pull the plunger back and forth. Very little resistance. It made a huge difference on the dreaded 'bridge bounce'.

Bill I will look into the blue ox also. I am hoping I never need as well but like insurance its just something "incase"

I just installed the Roadmaster RSSA on my Workhorse W24 and have a 400 mile run on Friday. I sure hope it helps as my 38' likes to wander at times. It has a stock rear track bar, so my next spend will be new shocks soon.
