Steering column

On my 1989 komfort I noticed that my steering column moves side to side. It doesn't appear to as firm as it should. I don't know if it's just the years of people climbing in through the drivers door and grabbing it to pull up . But I would like it fixed. I can move it side to side about 3/4 of an inch. Is there anything i can do to fix this or has anyone else had the same issue.

Google is your friend
just search gm tilt wheel
I am guessing this is a tilt wheel, pretty common, fairly easy fix
good luck

What you describe sounds like the bolts that hold the tilt to the top of the column.
Do the search for the videos, it's not the pivot that is loose.
