Brockx.. I suspect I could fix mine by using the dash ACCESORY instead of IGNITION power to operate the interlock. But yes, I agree it is a flaw,, I am not happy with it. Even with my indicator I'm not happy with it..

Acc. would be pretty risky. The wire that comes from the ignition on/run serves only to be sure the steps are in with key on door closed. If the steps close after you go from start to run you are accomplishing the goal.
