Sticky Slide

I posted this question several days ago on a Rexhall specific Yahoo group and have had no suggestions, so I'll repost it here where there is a broad cross section of knowledgeable experts:
"I have an annoying problem with my 2003 Rexair. Whenever it is raining, or is
very moist/foggy; the bedroom slide resists going in all of the way. It acts
like the top is hanging up, and the inside bottom edge starts to ride up off of
the floor. I lubricate the seals with slide lube 2 or 3 times a year, and when
it sticks like this I spray the portion that is inside with pure silicone, and
run the slide out/ Usually after a try or two it will come in. Otherwise the
slide is fine, with no leaks, but I would like to have a more permanent fix so
that I didn't have to worry each time I went to retract it. I would appreciate
any help."
Bob

It sounds like it is binding on top. Have you inspected the top clearances? Do you have a slideout topper over it? Do you know what slideout mechanism they are using?

There is a slide- out topper which prevents close inspection. I have looked under it with a flashlight when I have the stepladder out to spray slide lube on the rubber gasket. The mechanism is hydraulic.

I sounds like the wood frame is swelling from moisture?? You might check all the seams around the box when it is open and caulk them.. I hope someone will come on with the cure.. I used some Mothers Carnuba wax on the box of my slides and it helped them slide,, I put it on with a sponge mop under the topper.
My advise is worth what you paid for it, or less.

You might use a step ladder to check the top of the slide before it is retracted and watch the slide as it is retracting. Even during the rain. I have found my topper to hold water. While it has not bound up, I can see where it could be forced down with the weight and potentially get caught.

You can pin and remove the slideout topper mounting from the slideout. With it off try operation and/or inspection. If you find out it is binding on the main wall opening let us know the brand of hydraulic slideout so adjustment instructions can be sent to you.
