Still Searching

I've been searching and researching, now for a couple observations:

There are complaints about the solar gain due to windows, how to shield and reflect most of the heat,,,, inside shades or out side shades,, what?? almost half the rv's I've seen are dark in color and in a sunny area. Why are dark colored rv's so popular? I've learned from other posts that many older rv's with dark graphics are showing signs of aging/ checking, due to the dark color over the fiberglass.

everybody adds many things to their rv, but used rv's don't come equipped with the standard customization's.... guess they moved to the next rv...

most people name their rv, sometimes funny names, or meaningful names,

and finding the right rv with a documented history is difficult...

I too have many questions about RV style over practicality. Many years ago I had a school bus that we changed from yellow to off-white. While on the roof prepping it for the paint job, the yellow was so hot it couldn't be touched. The parts painted off-white could be touched and sat on. Notice that most all newer school buses now have white roofs. Why do RV's more and more go for dark colors, on the sides and the roof? The A/C units and the insulation hasn't improved that much that heat gain isn't an issue.

Naming a motorhome or trailer is nothing like those in the boating world. Take a walk through a marina sometime.

Searching for a used vehicle is always a challenge, but at least most major issues have been caught by the previous owner and hopefully corrected. Careful inspection and a CarFax or the like is always a good start.

I think RVs with dark sides still have the white roof. Ours did.
