Stinky grey water

We have a new tiffin Alegro Red. Love it but today we had stinky grey water smell in bathroom sink. Toilet fine. But if I put my head in sink I smell a bad odor. Filled up at a campground. Should I try and drain the water as a first step. Water coming from shower not fresh smelling either:

Gray water is not clean water, and the lines or tank my be contaminated with food and grease...I like adding some PineSol to the kitchen sink every once in a while to dissolve out the gunk and clean the tank. Also, a vortex type vent added to your vent pipe does wonders in lifting out odors.

The grey tank can stink worse than the black tank. Put a good squirt of Dawn detergent in partly filled tank before you drive it and agitate to help clean the tank. In addition, check that the smell isn't coming from a faulty 'cheater vent' under the sink.

Oatey 1-1/2 in. ABS PTC In-Line Cheater Vent-39012 at The Home Depot

These vents are screwed on the drain pipe under bath and kitchen sinks so you don't need connection to rooftop vent except the one to the tank itself. They can fail and allow odors into the RV. Also make sure each sink (and washer drain) P trap has water in it. Sometimes driving can slosh enough water out to allow fumes back up through the P trap.

Try putting some water down the drain! Some times the water in the pee trap, sloshes out allowing order to come back up the piping. We have had this happen a few times on the roads here in Alaska.

X2 in making sure there is water in the p-traps. Our first indication that our gray tank is full is the odor! Others say they get a backup in the shower.

What do you put in your black water tank for odor? Use the same in your grey tank.
