any ideas on what to look for when checking on storage places. I am just buying an RV and don't know anything about them, pro or con.

Ultimate storage would be climate controlled, inside with 50 amp hook up. Short of that, under cover storage with 15 amp power to maintain batteries. Outside isn't bad, especially if you have 20~50 watt solar panels to maintain batteries.

In Cincinnati, minimum is secure, outside parking at $50~$75 a month,no power, it goes up steeply from that.

there are many things that you might want but you will have to prioritize them. among them are covered, type of pavement, access to electrical power, security, access to dump facility, access to wash station, access to air compressor, access to water, policy on what type of maintenance is allowed to be performed. there may be others. i would sure like to have at least 110v power available, but there's ways to get my without it.

Security is a high priority. Thefts/break-ins do happen at storage facilities. Fencing, electronic gate, personnel on the grounds, cameras all help.

Covered would be nice but that's when the price goes up. Think of full-timer RVers...their RVs are outside in all elements year-round and if they're taken care of properly (washing/waxing) they look awesome.

Dump, wash station would be low on our list. You can dump at your last stop. Washing can be done while traveling.

Also ask what they do to reduce rodents at the storage facility. They should face an ongoing program.
