Hey all,
Still new at this and wondering what and how do you organize your storage compartments. How do you keep stuff from flying around down there.Do you use storage bins? What do you bring for a weekend trip and what do you leave in there all the time. If you have some photos that would be great also.

Rubbermaid storage tubs, come in 3 sizes, Home Depot and Walmart.

Absolutely! I'm thinking of buying stock in Rubbermaid.

I built ply wood racks in mine I will post pics tomorrow. They work great I can pull the table our carpet out with out moving anything. There is a place for the ladder and broom etc.

I use the clear storage bins. Don't have to label them. Water "stuff" is in one, sewer "stuff" is in another one, etc.

I have often wondered the same question while packing. One thing I have learned is to try to put heaver items in the front compartments. Reason being to balance or make sure the front axle has some weight on it which makes it handle better, avoids being tail heavy. (with my floor plan any way)

Sliders behind four bay doors. None behind two doors of pass through. (All bays pass through but sliders are only 1/2 bay deep each.)

Non-Slide coach.

Spare Tire on a platform in one bay. Other stuff below.

Rubber maid containers (3) have: Chassis parts & tools. Coach Parts & tools. Exterior Cleaning & Tools. Each container in a separate bay.

Patio mats, a Weber charcoal grill and a Coleman gas grill, 7 patio chairs, tool boxes, window shade screens, portable DTV antenna, Freezer, two tables, step ladder, fishing poles, electric fan, folding dining chairs, canister vacuum cleaner, sewer equipment, etc are stored uncontained.

Rig has walls between compartments and walls, ceiling and floors are carpeted to reduce shifting and noise.

Still room left over.

Sorry, no pics yet, but our story:

Before we took delivery on our new MH on June 1, we had to empty out the old TT. We knew we were going to camp the first night near the dealer, so we emptied the old trailer, placing most of the stuff in the shed, taking only what we thought we needed for the first night. Stuff like flashlights, pots and pans (to try the stove), shower stuff, bedding (including mattress topper), etc. The first night, I made a drawing of the storage bays, and labeled them by number. One is the compartment just behind the driver's seat, and holds the generator. I also measured them to see what size bins we needed. All the utilities are on the street side - generator, coach battery, electric, water, cable, water pump, sewer, dog shower, furnace and water heater. So, that side has all the stuff to service or use those items, in clear bins. Dirty in one bay, clean in another. The other side has all of the site items - chairs, barbeque, rug, broom, ladder, etc. Each bay also has a content list in a plastic sleeve taped to the door.

So we get home, look at what's on the MH, what's in the shed, and decided that most of what we left in the shed should stay in the shed. We bought so many gadgets and stuff we thought we'd need when we started out that we just don't need and don't want to carry. I need to have a (motor home) garage sale!

the rest of your storage compartments are empty then?

We have several Rubber Maid Action Packers of different sizes. They work out very good and are easy to move around. I also have two plastic tool boxes with all kinds of tools and 'what nots' they come in handy. One tool box is for standard tool and the other is for metric ones. I would take some pictures but our MH is put up for the winter.
