Storage Solutions :)

Looking for ideas for the basement storage in the Monaco.

Momma wants the spare Dining room chairs out of the closet and into the basement...
Have done a search for tubs/bins/underbed storage bags, but they are all JUST too small for the roughly 35 x 19 x 8 inch (each) chairs...

I KNOW you have all worked out your storage and appreciate your insights as ours is a mess right now...

don't feel safe drilling into the basement storage walls to mount shelves, etc...

Keep looking. I feel like I have seen bins that size at places like Target. I might try the Container Store as well. Let us know when you find it.

Here is how I handled that problem. Measured the distance between frame rails. Chairs would fit. Wrapped them in old blankets and stored them on plywood I slid between the rails. Will depend on your RV if you can use this method, but it worked on my 2003 Dutch Star.

Why do they have to be in a bin? Bins that size will take up a LOT of space you could be using. Just put them in the basement with every thing else. Your basement doesn't leak, does it? Put them in a plastic bag if you are worried about that.

We just store ours in the basement on the sliding tray and they are happy.

Not familiar with Monaco, so in keeping with tradtion on these forums I won't hesitate to add my 2cents. We drive an Itasca. Our spare chairs fold up and store beneath the bed.

Consider inserting a chair into spare sleeping bag for storage in the basement.

Dual purpose packing.

This is what we use to store ours...Better Homes and Gardens Hanging Garment Bag, Grey - Walmart.com they are made of cloth and keep them from getting scratched up.

You could also simply wrap them in bubbly wrap (after you stop POPPING the bubbles) and place them in your basement.

Hopefully FireUp will be along to provide some insight. Not sure if he has tackled dinning chairs, but the rest of his storage solutions are awesome.

I have ribbed him some in the leveling jacks threads, but that's all in fun!

Thanks for all the ideas....
Not full time (yet!) so can be wasteful

will have to look up Fireup's post if he's that good, because I'm that bad

I was thinking bins so I could stack them, but am really after keeping dust off them so I ended up with this as an interim solution...

I will figure out the ultimate storage for the WHOLE basement as now it is just thrown in there and very space wasting

Thanks again - much appreciated !

We are not full timers and since it is the just the DW and I, our spare chairs are stored in the storage area of our shop. If we might have some one visiting, we have plenty of room on the two couches.
That is just us!
