Styrofoam pellets blowing out of my A/C ducts

What is causing these stryofoam pellets/pieces to blow out of my a/c ducts after I clean the air filters? I see the ducting is styrofoam, but what the heck is causing that?

If it is like mine was, the peices are left over from where they cut the duct. I removed all my ceiling vents and went in with my shop vac, took care of it. Hope this helps.

I do not think it is rodents unless they are made of stryofoam and excrete stryofoam pellets.

I had mice in my RV. Boondocked in a field for an air show, 3 days. On the way home it was snowing from the vents, mice had got in at rear of RV went to the roof made nests in the ceiling. From there they went in and out using my basement air units. Had several in traps before they where gone. Hope you are right about not having rodents. It is just a thought on my part.

What is the size of these styrofoam pellets? In the last two MHs I have had I was getting very small 1/32nd inch pellets under the refrigerator. It was very very small ants and they were making nests. Got rid of the ants and no more snow..............ronspradley

Critters. I recently toured the Winne plant and watched a roof assembly on a high end DP. The roof insulation material has channels grooved into it to carry the cooled air. There is no ductwork as you would have in a home.

Something is in these channels.

Bu way of note the only roof differences from high to low end rigs is the thickness of the roof material. Same channels.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the info, folks! I am very concerned about the critters issue, but the small flakey looking pellets only come out after I clean the filters. Then that's it. Nothing. Maybe its something I'm doing when I re-install the filters/grills......

Anyway, thanks for the ideas! I'll be on the lookout!

Amost the size of a pinhead..... But mine come out only when I clean the air filter intake foam filter/grill. Then after a while, that's it, no more....
