Suggestions for 1 week trip from Quakertown PA to same, 1k mile max

Renting a 45' Essex out of Quakertown PA sometime in Sept or early Oct for 1 week, 1k mile max RT. Any suggestions / experience of sites to see / places to go for someone dipping their toes in the RV'ing pool b4 a likely purchase of similar rig?

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful ideas.

We spent a week in the Finger Lakes area of NY in the fall (Oct 2013). The crowds were down, the weather was great, and the wine tasting was awesome. We actually started in Niagara Falls NY, I met my wife there driving down from Toronto. Very nice trip getting to unwind from Quarterly Board Meetings.

It's a little over 1k but a trip to coastal Maine is a must do. Boothbay and Bar Harbor both very nice destinations. Plus the lobster is cheap and delicious.

Lake George NY and nearby Ft Ticonderoga are fun places too.

We're in northern Maine in the Rangeley area. The lakes and mountains are beautiful.
The round trip would be about 1100 miles though.
