Suggestions for must see Motorhomes before we make a decision

Ok... going to Hershey show next month . From research , I am interested in the Cornerstone, Essex, Eagle ... you get the drift. Price must be in 500’s or under OTD, so unfortunately I can’t get the Realm . Any others that I need to look at while there? If so, tell me why !

Also, what are must have options that you can’t live without or wish you had gotten?

Thanks in advance .

Probably should also look at Tiffin Zephyr.

I think you are on the right track. I would suggest you look at used Newell coaches. They run about $2 Million new, but because of high depreciation in the first few years you can find beautiful used coaches witin your price range. If nothing else, this will give you a perspective on the very best and you can compare them to the new models you are looking at.

This is a thread discussing Newell coaches:

This is a listing of used Newell coaches:

Best of luck!

Thanks! How old would we have to get to buy one in our range? I just worry about giving up the options available on the newer coaches , but I am sure most items can always be added!

Tiffin and Newmar are recommended. I'm not all that impressed with Entegra and American Coach - seen too many problems with them where I work.

Really? I have read such great things about entegra on the forums! I wish Tiffin and Newmar would get a more contemporary feel on the interior design.

Check out Motor Homes of Texas, they usually have a good selection of Highend Coaches.

Might also look a model down just to be sure you think the extra money is worth spending. Read good and bad on Newmar, Entegra, Tiffin, and American Coach. Personally I would also look into where/when you will be getting things fixed. You will need repairs! The extent may vary and not all may be warranty so look close on that end.

Things I would not want to do without? Choice of leveling air/hydraulic but I think all on your list have it. Waste for us is built in vacuum. Also like being all electric. Washer/dryer is also of great use for longer trips/stays. Really I think most of my must haves are std. on units you will be looking at.

Guess I’m confused as to what options a new coach has that my 10 year old does not have??? Care to enlighten me as I looked at quite a few new DPs last winter in Florida before deciding to buy used.

Decided there was nothing “new” that justified paying 3X as much...plus more sales tax, more insurance cost, and in some states property tax. In AL you will pay on 20% of it’s value times your counties mileage rate every year...could be over $1600/year. Granted that’s nothing compared to the $20,000/year deprecation on a $500K MH.

I may have worded it wrong - I meant am I giving up options that are on new coaches - mainly electronics, technical stuff ? And, eeeekkkk - is FL less expensive for taxes on them? We will be moving there in a couple of years . Thanks everycbody- so helpful!

Look for a used Prevost conversion. Some really, really nice ones can be had under your 500K limit. That will give you a million mile coach
