Sun visor switch

The switch on the driver side sun visor is faulty. Sometimes it runs down but wont run up (dangerous). I am not sure how to remove the switch or where to find a replacemnt. The switch is located on the panel at the left of the driver controls next to the allison trans controls. Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Bill, those switches just pry out. You can still call Monaco parts and order one. I found that those switches on the arm panel, which are mounted horizontally, collect a lot of dirt, unlike a switch mounted vertically on the dash. On my Monaco, I used to place a towel over those switches when the coach was parked at home and not in use. It kept the dust out of them. They are a popular switch. You might also try Northwest RV Supply. They use to have a huge selection of old Monaco stock that they bought when Monaco was still in business. I use to have a box of those switches, various ones, but gave them away when I sold my Diplomat. Northwest RV Supply

Sun visor switch

Before you pull switch look to see if you have a small button switch hanging down from the visor. It controls the operation of the visor. I'm not the expert on how it controls but I'm sure someone one here knows.

The MCD shades have buttons the end of the wires hanging from the motor, used to program the up and down stop positions on both shades. There is a procedure for programming those using the buttons and the switches, posted elsewhere on this forum. I recommend you Don't mess with those buttons unless your stop positions need reset and don't mess with them unless you have the instructions to program properly before you start. It is fairly easy to do the programming if you follow the instructions step by step. A quick search of this forum should find them.

I wondered what the heck that button was! I'll take a picture of mine later and post it, to see if that's it, but it sounds like it is.

Do a search for Carling switches and you should be able to find one.

The supplier shown is excellent. Buy the switch cover removal tool. It is a plastic device and pops the tops of easily. You will need it again I am sure of.

To remove the switch I recommend taking the panel loose and compressing the tabs from beneath. Old plastic can break easily. Getting the switch to separate from the socket can be a bit of a pain too.

The switch supplier can sell you just the rocker parts and label them as you wish.
