Surprise, Surprise
I have put a couple posts up, but haven't really introduced ourselves or spoke to much to our situation. We are long time campers just getting to old to rough it but still wanting to get out. A few years ago, we did a four day country music festival in my sister's pop up, which the set up and break down about killed us both and convinced us that, if that was the only option, we were staying home. A couple that we were friends with purchase a new trailer (not a 5th wheel). We liked it, but we don't have enough truck to pull a trailer without ultimately destroying the truck, so in the course of conversation, Class A's came up. And we started looking. And we lucked out! We got a clean, gently used Fleetwood Flair. Its awesome! The reason for the title "Surprise, Surprise" is because we didn't know we wanted a Class A until we bought one! We are doing some renovations to it, we have repaired/replaced front/cabin AC, fixed frig, patched leaky commode, new antenna, new TV... My dear mom used to call Dad's boat "a hole in which one throws money" and I think our toy may be something similar, but it the best money we've spent in a long time.

Welcome to the class A world. We wish we had bought ours before the two 5ers.

Welcome to our world
The boat analogy is a good one but the hole is only as deep as you want it. Once you make comfy you don't have to buy every dodad that comes down the pike.

Well.. Wife and I started (As an official married couple) in a Tent.
Then a few years later I picked up a used (and not gently) Pop Up (PUP) we used it till the canvas got so bad that replacement exceeded value of ride.
Then we got a SCAMP. 13 feet long and under 1 ton GVW. You can pull it with dang near anything.. Bit of a stability issue, easily fixed with a friction anti-sway bar.
Finally, in 2005, I towed it up to General RV and came home in a brand new Class A.. Set up it is 13 feet... Just like the Scamp.. Only WIDE (38 long)
