SW DFW Area RV Repairs

After the right front corner of my rig got brushed in traffic, I'm in need of fiberglass repair in the Fort Worth area.

The insurance adjustor says that chances are, the shop will remove the entire front cap for this seemingly localized damage.

Does anyone have recommendations?

Check out Johnson's Fiberglass in Burleson. 1045 NW Jones Dr. 817-293-1111.
They do fiberglass repair on Boats and RVs.

I just had some serious service station rash repaired. TouchUp Masters @ 817-456-6016. Many RV dealerships use them. Paint work was perfect match. Even repaired a fogged up window.

Ancira RV is close. They did excellent body work on our RV a few years ago.

I use Coach Specialist in Mansfield. It is a large shop and they do all sorts of repair including collisions. Very knowledgeable. 817-842-1144.

Thanks to everyone.

I used Mobile RV Service in Granbury. A friendly, happy bunch with good online reviews. I saw them doing outstanding work on small Class A's and trailers.

The autobody work on mine was very good. Master Painter Paul Stenberg is quite accomplished.

But, there were lots of systems problems caused at the shop that I discovered afterward. They tore my inflatable door entry seal and then glued it back in place with the hose dangling out of sight in the front bay, perhaps assuming I wouldn't notice the difference. The door lock electrical contacts' polarity was reversed. No caulking was done around the door frame after installation, so you could look through the gap to the outdoors. Our aging chassis batteries were put on a high-amp charge, and both forward trays were badly damaged by the boil-over/gassing. Best, someone tried to start the rig with sheeting over the intake and collapsed the ducting and my year-old Donaldson air filter, splitting the case and putting unfiltered air into the engine. But, they replaced my triple-pane heated Velvac mirror with integral turn signal to perfection. Also the Kwikee step and associated trim installation was flawless.

I notified them of the problems, but they didn't get back to me and I didn't press the issue. Rather than risk even more collateral damage, I easily repaired the items in my own shop. The battery bay was on my periodic maintenance list, and one of the door lock keypad functions needed to be restored, even before it went to the shop. While working inside the door, I cleaned and lubed all the linkage, replaced some hardware. Changing the air filter early is never a bad idea, for anyone. And, the 7" ducting can be reshaped, if you have the right tools. When it comes to caulking, I'm a damned artist, if I may say so myself.

The moral of the story: some places just don't possess the skill-set to deal with heightened complexity of larger, Class A rigs. These folks are responsive, get the job done on time and answered my calls (prior to being paid). They are probably fine for smaller motorhomes and trailers. Additionally, the deep drainage swale in front of their business virtually guarantees a bottom-strike, even when crawling through diagonally at sub-walking speed.

On a brighter note, I have a Fort Worth based mobile provider, RV Mobile Lube, arriving in the morning to do my TranSyn service, priced at $470. They come highly recommended. Robert is the representative who just called today (Sunday) to confirm our time tomorrow. So far, so good...

Ancira closed their RV dealership in Alvarado and sold the property to Fleetwood. Fleetwood is opening a regional RV service center there. From what I understand, they bought an adjacent property and plan a greatly expanded facility.

It's actually REV that took over Ancira in Alvarado, right next to MHSrv,
so many more brands than Fleetwood
