Temp for diesel cat

Does anyone know normal operating temp on cat 300

Welcome to the forum - My Cat 330 most often runs between 188 and 192. It will go higher in the summer when going up grades to 210 or so.

My cat 3126 in my 2000 Safari used to run between 180-210. I replaced the thermostats this past summer and now it stays at 190 downhill, uphill or where ever. Also seems to run better to me but the mileage is still the same.

I did some specification work for a public transit operation a while back. 195 degrees operating temperature was optimum for a diesel engine at that time. We spec'd vehicles with thermostats and radiator shutters to maintain that temperature as much as possible. I don't think things have changed since then. My ISB02 operates in that range.
