That is exactly what I would do. However, this fall when you are putting her to bed for the winter, remember everyones comments here. Also, in the fall there will be several forum post about winterizing. There always is.

Maybe an 1/8th of a basic hard mounted tank but you shouldn't burn thru the tank with the thermostat set to the lowest temp. Easy enough to to off when you head out later in the week. The furnace blower is a bit of a DC power hog so plug in and keep the batteries charged.

I'm voting with the "propane furnace" replies! You have electricity you plan to plug in, so no issue with battery depletion.

To the topic of winterizing a washer, visit the Splendide website and download the free winterizing instructions. You may need them in the future.
