My husband and I test drove an Alfa this past weekend with a I think a 300 or 330 engine. It was awful. REally, really noisy all over coach. Windows and door noisy everthing rattled. None of the outside storage doors closed properly. One door had to be locked to keep it shut. Water all in one of the compartments. Slide had a space on the floor after it was out. My husband and I thought it must have been in an accident but the dealer said no. We test drove a much cheaper coach, Cross Country and it drove like a dream. Did we just drive a lemon on the Alfa coach? We were really excited prior to driving it because my husband is tall and we like the big slide.

If at all possible please drop a note to Alfa Customer Care so they can take a look at the coach you're talking about, it does sound like it something that will need to be looked at and evaluated by factory representatives before it ever leaves the dealer's lot.

Hi,
Is the unit New or Used. Althought I have purchase a New SeeYA, taking delivery the end of next week. I have been following the Yahoo SeeYa forum and for the most part everyone loves the way it drives. Alfa has been very responsive to problems from there customers. Be sure its a new. get the Alfa unit number that begins with 7xxxx.

Becky and Harry,

That is not normal. I have a 2002 See Ya and have driven it over 21,000 miles. It drives very nicely, plenty of power over the passes, is extremely quiet and the interior is made well. Very open and spacious feeing. You probably noticed that. Nothing like it.

Another great part of owning an Alfa is the support you get from the factory. You already have heard from Brian. He participates on a Yahoo forum of See Ya owners and wanna-bees and answers questions, expedites parts and gets customer feedback to improve the coach.

Am very happy with the ALfa.

I too recently test drove a 36 See Ya and had an entirely different experience. It was relatively quiet, some rattling from the side driver and passenger sun shades that the dealer said he could fix. No wind noise even at 70mph. My wife and I were impressed.

We had a similar experience with a 2004 See Ya test drive. Even the steering wheel was misaligned. You couldn't see the gauges. We were also wondering if this was a fluke. But scares me a little that someone else had a similar experience.

We are actually looking for a 2005, and when we test drove one it was much better.\

I am now concerned about some of the other things I have been reading: such as customer service changing for 2005 and no longer being able to purchase parts directly from Alfa or stay with your coach if you need to go to the factory.

Another concern is dealer support. We will be relocating from the midwest to the southwest and will not be near our purchasing dealer.
Should that be a problem?

Anyone out there have any input about any of these issues?

Smies;
Excellent question!
We had a h**l of a time getting service outside of our selling dealer. Do not buy the " you can take it anywhere you want" song. It aint so.
I actually had an Alfa dealer refuse service work because I didn't buy it there. Also had many, many non dealers refuse service work on our 5er.
Alfa management finally got us in to an Alfa dealer and got a lot of the problems fixed.
We had a problem in New Mexico and had to buy tools and fix it ourselves. Proceed with caution.

Smies and Domie...
I have not encountered the problem of not being able to take it anywhere I wanted.
Alfa permits and even encourages owners to have their RV repaired at any facility that it authorizes to do the work. For normal work, I have often used mobile techs recommended by members at the parks I am staying. Since more than half the service calls require the ordering of parts, it is not necessary for me to bring my coach to the service location twice. It's worth the $35 cost for the mobile tech.
I think that one of the big problems RVers encounter is that they are in areas where there is a high demand for service (south in the winter!) and as a result they cannot get an appointment for "emergency" service since the service departments have been booked for months by people who plan ahead (same thing almost anywhere from May to September.) A dealer might try and fit in a coach he had sold on an emergency basis, so asks if you bought the coach from him; if not, he lets you know that he is booked for two months and probably is. Just the way it is. I'm sure that no one has a hard time finding service in Minnesota in February!
