Depends.

Registration Information

18,001-25,999 lbs. $205.00
26,000-40,000 lbs. $340.00

If you are disabled, $3.

There are also local fees based on County, and if you are commercial there are diesel fees. (I don't think you are commercial, just adding that so folks know.)

Also, the Texas Driver License Handbook was revised in 2012.

Curious about the disabled fees. The bit I read went up to light truck but I didn't see anything about RVs. Do you have a link?

Cliff,
I'll look for a link. I have my RV registered at the $3 fee.
I don't know if the clerk made a mistake or not, but I'm not going to complain.

Edited: I did a short search and found what you stated about "light" trucks. I don't know if it was changed, or what. At the time of my registration only the word "vehicles" was used. The wording could have been changed since then. I did look it up years ago and it was two vehicles at the reduced rate. More vehicles could have the disabled plate but it was at the regular fee schedule. Go figure.

Thom and I have been trying to figure out which state (CA TX or FL) to domicile in. Hard since Thom still has to decide which contract job he will take. Anyway we have looked at all 3 and talked to the DMV's in all 3 extensively within the last few weeks. TX will allow you to register one (1) vehicle for $3 using your disability paperwork from VA or SS and since the RV is the most expensive then why not use the disability registration for that one. That's the 'rule' but there may be some DMV employees that may go ahead and do the $3 for each vehicle but it is only supposed to be for one.

If you're thinking of going to California, I would suggest that you run away as fast as you can. I've been here my whole life and I'm leaving for Texas, I'll be there in 2 weeks to buy a house or property to live on.

We're going to start off our Texas experience the right way, We're going to the Texas Boomers Memorial Day Rally, may as well jump in with both feet!

We're looking in the Boerne (Hill Country) area, I thought I had a deal a couple months ago, but it had issues so we let it go, so back for round 2.

Thom just decided that we will be going onto Texas. So we will registering the vehicles in Texas and moving our domicile there. Just letting you know a decision has been made .....

[QUOTE=Wayne M;1555888] If you are disabled, $3.

I just bought disabled plates for my new motorhome in April and I assure you they were not $3.00. The disabled plates on my old class C motorhome were over $100 per year.
