I once waited a month to get a blue title back. If from a dealer, also dealer processing time.

The time limit depends upon the dealer. I have experienced wait times between 2 weeks to 10 weeks. Some dealers take the paperwork to the county quickly, and others not so quickly. They must furnish you with a paper tag until the actual tags arrive.

I don’t know about a MH in TX, but we just gifted an older car to our son in TX (NY registered car), who had it inspected on Tuesday, and registered on Wednesday,* so we’ll see how long it takes for the new title to get to him. That’s not through a dealer, of course, but at least I will be able to tell you how long it takes Fort Bend County to process it and return a new one from the time they got the paperwork.

*Plates back to me on Friday in the FedEx pack I included with the documents, labeled and ready to go, and which I quickly turned in then cancelled our insurance. One more vehicle down, with a boat still to go, for mo’ money toward RVing.
