The Squeeks are gone!!

After removal of the 80 lb. "boat anchor" (aka Sony 26" TV) from the front and replacing it with a 26 lb. 32" flat screen, THE SQUEEKS ARE GONE! Completed the job several weeks ago but just yesterday drove the MH for the first time (to fill the diesel tank - $3.95 in Austin, TX). Unbelieveable difference and there is no feeling that the monster is coming down and you'll be crushed....

As you can tell by my signature, I can really appreciate this post. The weight of our (not used...ever) TV has the same effect...getting rid of it is the next project...what to do with the space?? Bob

Hi Scenic Route,

In our Coachmen there was a 19" tube TV just above the driver's console. We removed it and replaced it with a 19" flat wide screen. I had the new TV mounted on the old frame converted to a door with a latch and plan to use the space to store DVD's, etc.

Hey Dan, Sounds like you and Hal have made a good move in saving weight by the change over. I haven't made up my mind to do the same thing because we just don't watch that much TV...would like to get rid of the weight and the 'squeaks' though. I like how you mounted the TV so you can use the space behind for additional storage...good idea! & Welcome to the site. Bob

Ours, too!

Got rid of our 27" RCA CRT & went with a 32" Vizio LED. The CRT weighed 78 lbs, the LED weighs 13.25 lbs. The overhead cabinets no longer squeek, pop & groan going down the road.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?
