The Ugly Fix for Detroit Diesels

I purchased an Ugly Fix for my DD Series 60 and am anticipating savings and POWER!!!

But for those of you have an UGLY FIX installed in your rig, when you go for your pollution, smog, etc. test, do you take it out or modify it in any way?

Have you experience any problem if the testing station finds it attached?

I have the Ugly Fix on my 60 series and love it. I noticed a large improvement in acceleration from a stop. It used to take a few seconds to build to full boost, now it is almost immediate. Last trip (3300 miles) I averaged almost 1 MPG better.
As to an emission test I ordered a 4' extension (about $40) for the Ugly Fix and now it sets right by the back engine door. Very easy to swap out (about 15 sec to change) . Just had an emission test and I swapped it with original. Next time I will leave it in.... Have a few friends with it installed and all have notice increased MPG and power.......

Good luck

What are you putting it in??? Your tag line must be old....

I got similar results when I installed the Ugly Fix on our Detroit Series 60. The mileage improvement paid for the chip within the first month. Can't say about the emissions since we're registered in SD and have no test requirement.
