Thermostat controls

My 97 SouthWind has the slide control for the A/C and Heat. The A/C never shuts off when it gets up to temp, the compressor kicks out but the fan stills run. Can I replace the slide control to a control that you use for a house. So when it reaches temp it will come on and off as needed and when I need heat just flip the switch and so on

You should be able to. I replaced the original domestic mechanical thermostat on my Mirada. The settings on the original were very difficult to see.

The new unit I installed is a very inexpensive electronic unit that fits my needs perfectly and is easy to see, day or night.

It is not programmable, but has a "SAVE" button. When activated, It turns the heat down 5 deg or if A/C is selected, turns it up 5 degrees.

2001 Coachmen Mirada (Ford F53 6.8L V10) - Toad 2003 Saturn Vue.
It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
