Smile Thinking About taking the dive (Newbie)

I am thinking about buying my first HM, I am looking at a 2007 National RV Dolphin 6355 gas unit 36'. There are a couple of things that concern me. The front top of the unit, the clear coat appears to be stripping away, almost appears as if the clear coat is blobbed up in a couple of spots and running down the front. Is there an end cap on the roof that could be repaired. The inside of the coach doesn't appear to have any roof damage or leaks. The other problem is, one of the storage doors is bent in a bit and scratched pretty good. The door stills appear functional, but cosmedically it's pretty bad. Can I get a new door for the unit. any help would be appreciated.

Be sure to get it checked out by a professional. Repairing paint can be expensive. I swiped a pole and damaged 2 doors and destroyed 1 door. Repair cost almost $12,000.

Unless this Dolphin has an irresistible price, maybe you should keep looking.

You might be able to find a door, but matching the paint may be difficult. A paint shop may be able to fix the front cap, but you may end up needing a whole paint job.

The condition of the rest of the coach and price would be the driving factors for me.
Good luck with your decision.

When searching for used parts utilize google and enter the search phrase "motorhome salvage yards", the results will return places like Colaws, Bontragers and several others. Probably gonna need to call for specific parts like the storage door.

As for the bubbling clear coat consider contacting a nearby body shop for advice. Possibly arrange an estimate during a test drive or ask the seller to bring it to the shop. Estimates should be free.
