Thinking outside the box, or in this case the Oil filler tube.

I don't know about you guys, but with my FRED it a real PIA to do an oil top up so I'm always on the lookout that would make this task easier and have less potential to make a mess.
So today I'm aimlessly wandering around a local mall where DW went into one of those teenage/ alternate life style shops. One of those ones that sells tee shirts and stuff we hope our kids won't wear.
Anyway, what do they have? But a Beer Bong(google it). As you can see in the pics it's a funnel with a hose, but the beautiful thing is that the hose is 3/4" I'd, and has a shut off valve. I'm looking at it thinking if i move the valve closer to the funnel it would be perfect to get oil into the filler tube quickly and cleanly.
I'm going to shut the valve and pour a quart/ ltr of oil in it and make a fill line in the funnel part. It's 6.5 ft long as it is, so it will have to be shortened and perhaps a reducer length of tube will have to be added. But in the meantime I think I may have solved my problem.

" Aimlessly, wandering around ; into an alternate lifestyle shop ."

Sure; that's your story; and you're sticking to it.

Hi, from the west coast, and like yourself , I'll by anything I can use anywhere I can get it.

But , Alternate lifestyle shop, I think they have by-laws against them here.

Don't recall how much they cost but I picked up something like that specially made for adding oil. The "funnel" portion had graduations on it so you know how much you are putting in and has a top seal. It was probably from Walmart or Pep Boys.

The problem I was trying to resolve was finding a funnel with not only a larger diameter tube but also a longer one than I have seen available. Granted 6.5ft is a bit of over kill but I'll trim that back to a more manageable length.

IN days of old when oil came in cans you opened with a pointed thingy they made a funnel with hose and said pointed can opener.

Today they make a hose with a multi-thread (Stepped thread, the female equivalent of your 3-step sewer threaded adapter) some of them have valves, usually at the threaded end,, It screws on a standard oil jug (Quart or gallon) or a Windshield washer bottle or a brake fluid bottle or a _____ bottle and ... Well, what you get is what you want.

My original Towed was a Chevy Lumina APV.. it is IMPOSSIBLE to put brake fluid in by the normal method due to where they put the master cylinder.. That's what I used.

Here are two O'Reilys links that show SIMILAR products, Imagine these but without the funnel, only the extension

RhinoGear 05060 - Hand-E Flex Funnel | O'Reilly Auto Parts

FloTool 10704 - Funnel | O'Reilly Auto Parts

The second one is closest to what I used. I gave one to my brake man.
