Do your homework and look in every nook and cranny. It won't be anywhere as well built as your Monaco. I know they are two different price points, but the Thor Ace is an entry level coach and you may not be happy once you start comparing things to how your Monaco was built. Also, look at the slide size and what powers it. Thor used the Schwintek slide system, which is a good system, but has it limits. Many of the Palazzo models are having nothing but issues. They only used one Schwintek slide system on their large slides, when two were needed. Our friends are currently having a second Schwintek slide system added to theirs so it will quit breaking down. Eventually, Thor started adding a second unit after all the failures.

The ACE should not experience the Schwintec slide issue due to its smaller size. At least after three years, ours had no problems. As for gas mileage, we always got ~10mpg, mostly pulling our toad. Of course, we did the 5-Star Tune and had the cheap handling fix installed (search on the forum for the appropriate blogs). Overall, the ACE is a great entry level Class A that is fun to drive.

Seating Updates

We have a 2016 ACE 27.1 and never cared for the dining/living seating. They did not have enough depth and the foam is garbage. We own an Upholstery shop and made some changes. As the one seat has all of the electrics under it, we only changed it by taking the curved end off and replacing with a flat board. This took off 4" for the aisle. We made a cushion with 5" HD foam and a Dacron wrap. We took the other seat and moved it out 4", removed the sleeper and built a new cushion with 5" HD foam and wrapped with Dacron. The extra depth is much more comfortable and allows one to sleep there with plenty of width and length. More changes to come but here is a pix of the completed seating.

More storage.

Yes, much more with the extra 4" of room. Plus, I removed the box covering the heater duct work.

Hello we just bought an ace 27.2 and I'm very disappointed in the quality of work Thor is putting out on the street for camping world makes there inspection but the service is real bad when you call nobody knows where your coaches or what's going on with it so this is the last time the coach goes to Camping World fort Myers lazy days and they treat you like a king
