If you have a CO2 detector, it would be a simple matter to stick it in the closet when you leave and see if it goes off. We have the sister coach, an 08 Essence but have never had the engine access in the bedroom up. Is the hatch making a good seal?

You probably have an access door to the engine compartment in the floor somewhere in the rear of the coach, possibly in the closet depending on layout. Diesel exhaust smoke can enter thru there if the cover is loose or if the seals around the access door have failed. You could also have an exhaust or turbo problem which is putting too much exhaust in the engine compartment. We had the same problem on a Monaco Camelot and it turned out that there were some loose bolts on the turbo assembly.

Is it a new or used MH? It could be smell coming from fabrics, carpets, glues or someone had been smoking and when it is closed up you get the smell again. safe travels..ed

I have a 2011Tuscany, and I found the clamp just behind the turbocharger was loose. This is under the service panel in the bathroom floor. I tightened the clamp, then readjusted the service panel, and added rubber seal around the panel. That solved the problem. You will notice the latches on the panel are also adjustable. Even Cummins missed this. Hope this helps.
