We may end up with a Winnebago. The issue no is my spouse is afraid of driving a 30 and wants a 27. I like the 30t and she likes the 27n. Any suggestions or experience you can share driving either size?

They are all 8+ feet wide and 12+ feet tall, thats what matters most for approx 95% of your driving.

When in the drivers position, there is zero difference in driving. I moved from a 35' DP to a 40' DP and there is no difference in driving. Our best friends have a 27N. They like it very much but the single A/C is an issue on hot summer days. After two years they added a second A/C over the bed where there is a power vent.

I kept it simple. Newmar from a quality dealer. It kept the signal to noise ratio low. Outstanding experience so far.

When I was taken out by a school bus driver for orientation as a driver for a job in college, he told me, "Look for a hole big enough to drive the bus through and go. Only trick is backing and turning." It's been good advice for driving buses, RVs, and vans for almost 50 years.

I agree with the above posts, once you are sitting in the driver seat there is no difference between 27, 30 nor 35. Not to mention that a 30ish foot motorhome might be a little more desirable then a 27 for when you want to resell it in the future. We like our 33, for now since we are not retired, but we do think we will move up one day when we spend more then our 40 nights a year that we currently do. Best of luck...

What's behind you doesn't matter. You either cleared it or crushed it.

I wouldn't choose an RV vs. another because of 3 feet. If you were doing it because of space limitations or to get into national parks, that would be one thing. But if it's strictly over driving and handling get the one you like better. It's only about 36 inches. Once you're driving it you won't notice the extra few ft.

Length has nothing to do with how it drives, until you get a lot bigger with a tag axle. Take it from someone who had never driven one of these behemoths before last October. Width is the biggest thing you'll have to get used to, where your butt is in relation to that center line, and in that respect they are all the same. Then turning, which again is pretty much the same for all of them until you get above 40'.
Whether it's a 27, 30 or 38, will be very little difference from the driver's seat and a LOT of difference in the living space. We spend maybe 4 hours a week driving and 164 hours a week living. I know which one will drive my decision!

Pick the floor plan that suits your proposed lifestyle. As mentioned there is virtually no difference in driving it forward or backwards. Turning will require a slight difference which is easy to get used to.

Ok, after shopping around and seeing the different floor plans, my spouse has finally agreed and it's the Winnebago Vista LX 30 T. Looked on RV trader but a lot are new and way over 100k. Are there any other sites for used, 2016 motor homes?

Congratulations on the new unit. No matter what you get you will enjoy being out with it.
