Thoughts on Safe T Plus for 43' DP

With the posting of the tragic accident on I10 in LA, my DW wants to have a Safe T Plus added to our 06 Navigator. Our previous coach had one but I couldn't really tell that it help with steering much and I don't know for sure that was the brand. Any thoughts on putting one on a coach that size?? Anyone had a blowout with one on board??

Thanks
Jerry

Im also interested in this for my 1999 Eagle,

I also am interested in the Tyron Tire band but can't find anything about where to purchase them.

I have Tru Center on my Coach. I have noticed it helps when there is a steady cross wind. I set it and do not have to keep steady pressure on the wheel to combat the wind. Luckily I have never experienced a front tire failure so I can not comment on how it will perform but based on the experience with crosswind I have high confidence it will help immensely

I only have a 33 foot gasser but the Safe-T-Steer has been awesome.
Makes driving much less tireing as well

I have a road master reflex on my 1996 Monaco Windsor. SAFE-T-Plus was over double the price. I have been happy with it. Before, the RV drove like a sailboat. Now, very stable.

I installed a Safe T Plus and would do it again if I didn't have one but can't say how it will do with a blow out and hope I never find out. In principal I think its better to have one than not and now they have a lifetime warranty (no pun intended).

Here is something to help your mind... Good steering stabilizers, safe-T-Plus being one of them, should help a lot. The other aspects of keeping power and not suddenly braking also have to be followed. Just remembering the routine and getting it in your head each time heading out on the highway increases the chances that the sudden blowout will not trigger a panic reaction.

Great video.
I won't leave home without mine

We just lost a father and son this past week as their toy hauler had a blowout and plunged into a ravine off I-77 in South Carolina. The Safe-T-Plus was designed to keep this from happening.

I think mine has helped with the handling and is the reason that I installed it, but the peace of mind on the blowout scenario is also there.

I installed one on our Gulfstream Scenic Cruiser and it was the best thing I have ever done for coach handeling.

I'll jump in also. Installed one on an Endevour, it really helped in general driving. Never had a blowout. Used a different brand on my present C and can say it helped the everyday drive also but again no blowout. In both RVs the road ruts were a problem also and the shock helped in both cases. If I purchase another RV it will get the stabilizer too.

Jerry, you might want to look at the SteerSafe stabilizers.

I guess I'm odd man out, cause I doubt whether an STP will have any noticeable effect on a big DP that already has an excellent steering system. I had one on a previous gas chassis rig with leaf spring suspension, but never even considered adding it to our DP.

A more sophisticated system such as Tru-center or Comport Drive is perhaps a different story, but STP is basically just a steering stiffener.

I put on a Blue Ox True Center and it works great. They are definitely pricey , and I hope to never test the blowout help but they are pretty strong. I love the ability to adjust on the fly for steady crosswinds and road crowns. New York to Florida I only made 3 or 4 adjustments but it kept the coach as straight as rails.
