Tiffin 35 QBA FRED info needed

I have put a refundable deposit on a 2010 Tiffin 35 QBA with a 300hp front engine diesel. This is the floor plan I really want but I really don't know too much about the front engine diesel. I really want to know gas vs diesel front engine. I know the DP is the preferred diesel set-up I have read all those comparisons but I need info on the front engine Cummins on the Freightliner chassis vs the Ford and Workhorse chassis.

Also if anyone has any knowledge of problems with the 2010 Tiffin 35 QBA. Info like recalls would be helpful.

We have a 2007 35 ft. Allegro Bay tsb FRED we bought new and have used to live in for six to seven months continuous each year since. When we bought the dealer had an identical coach on a gasoline chassis so we were able to test drive the gasser and the FRED back to back. We bought the FRED. Compared to the gasser the FRED was quieter and climbed hills better. The engine brake makes going down hill easier (and IMO, safer). Other considerations were that the FRED has a diesel generator and has more cargo capacity than a comparable gas chassis. The fuel tank is larger than the gasser and the mpg is better thus giving better range.

Other than normal maintenance we have had no engine issues. The only chassis issue was a brake recall, and we had a seal fail on the rear axle. We have had no serious issues with fit or finish and the assembly quality of our unit has been good. Our coach is not a DP, but has served us well.

jzick thank you for your comments. That is exactly the type of feedback I was looking for. I did go on the Tiffin network and register and will search the site tomorrow.

Freds are better than most folks realize. They are what they are, and they are great!

I think the FRED you are looking at is an excellent choice.
