Tiffin Allegro extended warranty

I am in the process of buying a new Allegro 36LA. The extended warranty seems extremely expensive. I looking for some opinions if it's worth while buying or not. Thanks

Tiffin Allegro extended warranty

Btw, welcome to the club!

Who are you getting the extended warranty with? There are many options, but it will be cheaper and longer coverage when new than a few years down the road.

I agree that extended warranties are expensive, but only if you never need it. If you need it, the are worth it. My first coach, I thought I'd put the money in the bank versus buying an extended warranty. I had the complete dash a/c & heater go out. That alone exceeded what the warranty would have cost. Then the generator went out, about $5K to replace. Then I had to replace other things as well.

This time I bought new and got an extended warranty for the longest length and best coverage available. I have already had it pay off. Like just after the manufacturer warranty was exceeded, the complete steps mechanism had to be replaced, covered. The windshield wiper mechanism had to be replaced, covered. What if a major appliance goes out, like the refrigerator, stove, microwave and convection oven, the inverter or other power components, the generator, etc.... It happens.

Get the extended warranty and sleep easy.

Happy travels!

Ted

You said you're buying a new Allegro. That means you have a factory warranty for at least one year. DO NOT buy an extended service contract (it is NOT an extended warranty-by law) now. You have a year to choose an extended service contract provider. Buying from the RV dealer is almost always more expensive than buying from an independent broker like RV Extended Warranty Coverage, RV Warranty Specialists - Wholesale Warranties for RV Repair , Good Sam, Alliance, etc.

Warrantee

In all my 59 years only once bought an extended warrantee on anything and never used it. Don't forget chassis has 3 year end to end coverage from Ford and 5 year powertrain. If you are somewhat handi and can fix most things. save your money. PS Tiffin is good at covering defects after warrantee expires.

I forgot about the Ford warranty coverage. You also reminded me about Dometic air conditioner/heat pumps. If you have it serviced annually by a "qualified technician" the Dometic warranty is extended by 2 years-3 yrs total. It pays to read the owners manuals ASAP.

It's a personal choice on an extended service contract, but what I would advise is wait and then shop around. No reason to pay the dealer mark up on one.

Take the money that you would have to pay for extended service plan, and put it in a savings account. Here is a article I wrote in my blog about so called Service plans or extended warranty. The Link is below.

Extended warranty = Big money maker for the dealer. My 2 cents, put the same amount per month in a maintenance fund.

Cheers!

Hi,
I have just bought a Tiffin Phaeton 36GH at the the Pleasanton RV show and I will get the easy care warranty. I bought the warranty on my last motorhome (2009) and I made out like a bandit.
In my opinion it's worth it!

I just purchased a 2016 Tiffin Allegro RED 33A this past weekend in Houston. The dealer also tried to sell me the extended warranty that sits on top of the Forever Warranty. Cost was just shy of $9k. I chose to invest in my own account and stayed away from the dealer offered warranty.

New to the iRV2 site. Excited to be a member and read all the great topics!
