I'm not sure who you are asking but all throw my two bits in. I really like the Entegra Anthem and have only heard wonderful things about them and their after sales service. They would be my top pick. With Newmar second.

My problem with them is two things: 1) There isn't a dealer anywhere close to where I live. There is a Jayco dealer but apparently they can't sell the Entegra coach's? 2) They only have a 26" TV upfront and have a 40" mid TV. The U-shape coach faces forward and I never used my mid TV once in my Allegro Bus.

I bought a book called "RV Comparison Guide" on line. It gave me a lot of info that I used while shopping for a RV. Since we travel full time, and RV's as you know are expensive, and depreciate. The Tiffin was my third RV I've owned. I tried to buy something that would last till we were finished traveling, aroud 10 years. I needed an upper end RV that I wouldnt have to replace the roof, and had plenty of horsepower. Using the book I mentioned, the best to chose from were Foretravel, Newmar,Country Coach, Travel Supreme, Beaver, HR, were in a class (P) for premium. Next was Tiffin, (and others), in AA, above average. Along with all the choices was that a lot of the other RV manufacturers, had filed bankruptcy. I just happen to be at RV retailer/story,one day buying parts when the owner told me he had a nice Allegro Bus. He was right! Do yourself a favor...do you homework. Get that book. It gives you a tremendous amount of info you need. You won't be sorry.

hellojohnny: I just received a detailed side by side comparison from a Fleetwood rep. I have not even looked at the interior comparison yet, but based on the specifics for the exterior detail, thought out Liberty chassis, basement design and structural construction it seems they have the Tiffin beat! I agree with you about their customer service and warranty, I have admired them for years. But the less I have to keep in touch with my manufacturer the better right? Why can't my Tiffin rep provide such a comparison I wonder?

JimM68: True concern about being underpowered. They both have the same engine, hp and torque specs. How seriously will that effect me with a longer coach and heaver due to the tag axle? I plan on have a toad @ 5k lbs as well!

I think Tiffin make a very nice coach but for a family, I don't think any other floor plan comes close the 42A. The xtra 1/2 bath, the dedicated 2nd bedroom / playroom (not just a bunked in the hallway), personally I really like having the master between the kids and the exit, the bathroom between the kids and the master offers a bit more privacy. I do think the 42A might be a bit underpowered but I'm sure you'll be able to make it up any hill, just might not be that fast.

michelb: That's a great point about the floor plan and being between the kids and the exit, and the bath and a half. Also, I agree with the underpowered thought. Can any aftermarket adjustments be made to improve this?

I can't stress the power factor enough. My Discovery was seriously under powered. When you see a sign talking about a 5, 6, or 7% grade for miles. You can down shift to climb hills, but you engin & trans. Temp will climb. On hot days in the mountains it can be bad. I've been there. " Banks" makes some systems to boost your power. I didn't want to put a lot of money in the Discovery. These thing do depreciate, even with your upgrades! I just bought something better equipped.

As mentioned, Banks and other companies do make some products to improve performance but I don't know if they can do much for that ISC (380/1050 I think). I think the problem is that you are pretty much maxed out for that model of Allison transmission. Best advice I can give is to drive one (if you can find one - depending on where you are that might not be easy) or talk to other owners. It certainly won't be a powerhouse butit might be sufficient.
