Tire Pressure

How often do you check tire pressures? Haven't made any long trips yet, but planning one during end of May.

I try to remember to "check" all six tires EVERY day before pulling out, and I'll put the gauge on them at least weekly to be sure. Never had a blow-out, but did find an inside dual very soft one morning due to a leaking stem extender. I was unable to determine if the tire was "run" under-inflated or if it just leaked down overnight. Tire tech inspected it, installed a long metal stem to eliminate the need for the extender, and re-filled. So far, so good. Had him replace the other side extender as well. I hate those things!

I check mine once a month which is about the frequency we head out for a few days at our local state park. Only takes a few minutes. I like a routine... Check the tires, check the oil, run the gen, look for "critters" in the wh and fridge enclosures, etc. Unit sits outside in the driveway so just go outside and have at it.

With the TPMS we have we check every morning before we travel and at every intermediate stop. I remove the sensors and use a gauge to check accuracy every couple months. Before installing the TPMS we checked every morning before travel. Since installing the Dually Valve stems, we have to add air about once per year.

I have a TPMS, so pretty much rely in that to warn me if the pressure is out of whack. I do check occasionally while driving, though. The push of a button makes it easy.
