Tire Schrader valve leak, sort of

When checking tire air pressures, I have no problems until I get to one of the 6 tires. I just can't get the gauge to seal to the valve stem. I have tried 3 different gauges, neither of them work on this one tire but they work on all the others. I'm thinking that I need to change the core but want to see if the IRV2
community has a different suggestion.

It sounds like the schrader valve is sticking up too high in the valve stem and is not letting the air gauge seat properly. Try to screw the valve in more. If it still does not work, replace the schrader valve.

Are the gages newer Chinese or good old real ones?

It seems the rubber seats in most are not so good and seem to leak.

Have a drawer full of bad ones with the older than dirt ones seem to work best.

Can push an o ring of proper size (slightly larger ) and it seems to cure them.

Thanks for the help. I changed the valve core which solved the problem. Looking at the old core, it looks like the stem is bent a little off center.
Thanks again
