Anyone running 295 80 22.5 Ameristeel ?do you like them?

I was also looking at toyo but the ones my tire dealer found were almost already two years old

I just bought six Toyo M144 in that size about two weeks ago and the dates on them were all 2916. Were those old tires in their stock? Newer ones apparently are available if ordered. It took almost two weeks to get them.

I Have not heard of them.. i thought i bought the least expensive American made tires, Generals in that size with 2016 dates, as i had 275's thats michy size.

I changed up to 1100/22.5s from the 295s as they are more common to get anywhere and the price is cheaper. Since they are a truck size they have a bigger turnover so fresher date codes. They are about 1 inch bigger in diameter but my coach handled them well as far as clearance issues are concerned. Small difference in the speedo but I use other means for that. They ride and handle as good or better than the old tires.

Odd. I put Continental 11R22.5's on my rear axle to replace 295/80's and the size is near identical. Just 4 revs/mile difference. Are you sure you weren't replacing 295/ 75's? That would be a greater difference.
11R's are a bit narrower as well, and the max load capacity is somewhat less. They are fine for my rear axle where I carry only 5000 lbs/tire, but comeup short on the front. I would need to use 12R's on the front to get enough load capacity, so I stay with 295/80 there.

Yes they were 295 75 22.5's The 1100 22.5s were well within the weight ratings all the way around on mine. I have the actual weights for each corner as well.
But yes you do have to watch for that as well.
