Who would have put 2008 tires on a 2010 rig?

It's time to negotiate something for the soon to be replaced tires.

Its not uncommon for an 09 model to have an 08 chassis. FW was in bankruptcy in 09 and production was halted for a long time. They must gave had this 08 chassis leftover when they resumed production of the 2010.

I checked the VIN and it is a 2010 Spartan Chassis. 2008 tires, go figure. What does a set cost and where do you buy them in Austin? Thanks for all the help!

Negotiate new tire cost into the deal if you can

What size are they ? They're probably north of $6-700 each.

You'll probably do best to just call around to some local tire shops. Who knows if/when an Austin poster might see your post and have an answer. (If you are an FMCA member, you can get a discount on tires through them.)

If you are a member of FMCA or elect to join, you can get a substantial discount through their Michelin tire program if you want to go with Michelin
I saved about $1,400 on a set of 8

I have same rig and have 2008 tires on mine. On my way back home now from a month long trip, tires have done well so far. Was reading somewhere on here that a lot of peeps are going with the Hankook tires, will give them a hard look when I decide to swap tires. I use Wagner tire in Dripping, great service and competitive pricing.

I purchased a set of Toyo M122 for mine in April, and have driven 3000 miles. Can't tell the difference between them and the old Michelins that were on there. All 6 were 2800 out the door.
