Ust got tires yesterday 235 80R 22.5' at Americas Tire. Got 4 for $1700 with $100 off if you purchase 4 tires. That sale was for yesterday and today. Best price anywhere. Even beat Costco. Place in Concord will mount all for $150.

Because the tires had very few miles on them but due to the sun exposure, the outside tires sidewalks were splitting. They are Michelins.

How old are the tires you didn't replace? Where are you going to position the new ones?

so, we are all thinking: the new tires ought to go in the back so they all match, but that puts the old tires up front as steer tires, which is not exactly ideal. therefore, pony up the rest of the cash for two more new ones.

sound right guys?

I have an appointment on July 6th to replace all 6 of my Micheline 235 80R 22.5' tires. The dot code indicates tire vintage March of 2004, I have some cracking on the side walls but its not too bad. I thought they were 2005 vintage until looked at the DOT code. My out the door price is $2900 and it includes disposal of the old tires and bead balancing.

That's what I was thinking but it really depends on how old the tires are.

Well th MH is an 05. We bought it new in 07. Present mileage is around 15k miles. We figured the splits on sidewall was due to sun exposure.

The "DOT" stamp on each tire will tell you when it was manufactured. They may well be 2004 tires which make them 8 years old.

like rick said check dot on side wall it will tell you if they need to be replaced ? from what you have told us i would put new on, rather than that a chance with your family or some other innocent family out on the road!!

You are right. We were just going to replace the front and the two. Outside rear tires. Thinking cracks were due to sun damage. Wasn't even thinking about age. So 8 years is usually long enough whether cracks or not? Thanks all for your input.

Generally speaking I think the answer is yes, replace the tires at 8 years. Michelin says 10 I believe but very few folks in the know go that long. Many posts here on the forum about blow outs at 8 years when the tires still looked great.
