toilet problem

Hi guys, this may seem minor, I have a thetford toilet with a lever in the front and the bolts holding the toilet seat, one side is loose, how in the heck do you get in to tighten it?

I think at the rear of the seat/lid are two plastic holders for the plastic bolts which go thru the porcelain with a plastic nut on the bottom side. The plastic holders have a snap-off cover which covers the head of the plastic bolts.

Snap off the cover and tighten the bolts with a screwdriver.

Hope this does it.

Depending on the model.. ON mine (A 111) there is a decroative collar around the base, it serves no purpose other than to cover the pedistal, it snaps off and finds it's way to a trash bin very easily and makes service much easier.

You can also snap it back on if you wish.

I just tightened mine and put some double-sided tape between the plastic holders and the porcelain top before tightening. Stays put now.
