I damaged a right side mirror by not using the lane to the far right...

There will still be tolls, just no toll booths. They're switching to an all-electronic system. Either you have an EZPass or they take a photo of your license plate and send a bill to the registered owner.

Wondering, if you have a toad, since that's the plate they see, do the charge you just for the car ?

Toll booths are not the only problem. Try driving through some of the US/Canada border crossings. 2 or 3 inches clearance on each of the side mirrors! You aren't allowed to use the truck lanes.

No, they can "see" both the coach and the toad. I have a EZPass for the coach +toad, so it knows what to charge automatically.

Just watch the mirrors for clearance.

This is interesting. I am a South Dakota resident and the governor has stated that the state will not release any info on a SD resident to any state that is trying to collect on a violation that was recorded with a camera

What you lack in clearance you can make up for with speed. Just kidding, go slow, take your time, and don't worry about the donkey behind you if he's getting impatient (he won't pay your deductible if you hurry for him).

Yeah, boat....... that's what happens because they are really really stupid and never set up a toll booth before.

Driving through an electronic toll booth is not a violation. It's a legitimate road use fee that you voluntarily agreed to.

1/8th of a inch clearance is the same as 8ft.

Here is a picture of one Mass Pike booth.
Red arrow points to "Autos Only" sign. Green arrow points to "Wide Load" sign. The "Wide Load" sign has arrow pointing to far right lane, (yellow arrow).

The sign above the far right lane says "Easy Pass Only".

So I guess , per the wisdom of government, you can only take a wide load on the turnpike if you have an Easy Pass.
