Too Much Wax

For years I have put a light coat of liquid wax on the front of my coach. (Either 3M or Diamond Shield). It helped to get the bugs off more quickly.

Several months ago I got ambitious and put on a good coat of a high quality paste wax. When I tried to get it off, I found hundreds of small rock chips in the shield (95K miles, Canada and Alaska). I could not remove the wax in the chip holes. I have been told that I can not lightly buff.

Any ideas? Is there a polish or something that will disolve the old wax in the pits? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mineral spirits or wax and grease remover will dissolve it.

Try the Turtle Rain clear coat wax

X2 on Cat 320 suggestions, I've used an old tooth brush.
AND, the only recommended product for
the 3M and Diamond shield coverings is Beoshield 303 Protectorant,
as I have been told by Diamond Shield folks.

You should never use a petroleom based product on diamond shield. The above post is correct about the 303

Rejex used here, best thing I have found for the protective film. RejeX
I used a swirl remover first w/buffer to remove old wax and chalkie haze on front protective film and then applied.

I would not put a brush or Mineral spirits the film is very soft use a dish washing detergent it will remove wax. That's why you don't wash a car in it. You might try plas-x diamond shield told me to use it to help with scratches.

X2 Years ago I used a medical scrub brush to remove wax from around rivet heads on my helicopter.

Dawn dishwashing soap will remove the wax and is gentle on the plastic shield. It will remove wax quickly

Sorry I did not realize it was a special finish, thought it was paint.

X2 on Dawn dish washing soap.

There are some issues with DS. Many prefer a bra. I turned it down when I bought my rig. 1 chip in 13,000 miles. Touch up paint!
