If you are unfortunate enough to have your slideout refuse to come in....you know what a pain this can be....you can't drive with it out! Many of the slide mechanisms that are mechanical have a procedure where by you disable the brake holding the slide, then turn a shaft attached to the motor until the slide is retracted. You can struggle with a wrench or ratchet, or many times a cordless drill with a flexible shaft can perform the task so much quicker and easier!

You are free to pick your favorite cordless drill, however the lithium-ion powered ones have the advantage that they retain their charge for up to a year or more!




Get a flexible shaft so that you can reach into awkward positions easily !

If you have to pull over to the side of a road because of engine or tire problems.....be smart and safe....put a couple of these traffic cones out to warn drivers to exercise caution. The even will light up at night with a battery operated LED light ! Note: these collapse down to a very compact size for storage in the RV.

Hard water can clog sink faucet aerators, showerheads, dishwasher solenoid valves, as well as add sediment to the bottom of your water heater, and leave your shower walls with ugly water scale deposits. A portable water softener can make those issues go away. Recharges with plain table salt.

Adding and checking air to the inside dual wheel can be very difficult. Also since they are bolted together, if the pressure is different between the inside and outside tires, the whole assembly is "out of round" which is not optimum. The crossfire or cats eye setup solves this problem. An internal check valve prevents both from going flat if just one tire has a blowout.

Both systems are good.

The outlet in the basement compartment that could hold a TV supplies power to my pancake air compressor and to the Dewalt battery charger. I carry a cordless drill and flashlight on all trips.

If you tow a vehicle behind your motorhome, you need lights on that vehicle. You have basically three choices. 1. Modify the wiring in the towed to function with the motorhome. 2. Use hard wired external magnetic lights. 3. Use wireless external magnetic lights. Option 1 is becoming more difficult or impossible with newer vehicles using multiplex wiring systems. Option 2 needs to be sure the wiring is secured every time you drive. If the cable "flaps" in the breeze it can wear a hole in the paint pretty quickly. Option 3 is the easiest. Put a piece of cloth between the magnets and your vehicle to protect the paint. Then flip the switch. The lights recharge overnight for the next day's travel.

Both of these are good options.

These look interesting......they say as good as a Segway but cheaper. Well, either one....the original Segway, or the imitation would be great campground transportation. They could be carried in the basement storage, or in the back of your SUV towed.

Big trucks have big air horns......same with trains.....its a safety thing. To alert that driver that is about to cut in front of you and leave you no stopping distance.......BBBBLLLLLOOOOWWW THAT HORN! If your RV just came with a wimpy "car" horn, then rest easy.....you can upgrade to the real thing fairly cheaply.
