Tour bus style microphone for stereo

With 4 kids, it is sometimes and issue for them to hear me when I'm driving the MH. The DW gets gets ill when I have to yell, given she is sitting right beside me.

Since my MH has a nice stereo system with good speakers throughout, I was wondering if there was a C.B. style microphone that I could plug into the aux input to make my, uh, "announcements".

Do you know what kind of mic I would need, preferably one with a push to talk switch (PPT)? I know you have to get one with the right (aux level or line-level output) meaning the mic probably has to be powered some how (battery?).

Coincidentally, there is an old CB installed in my MH that doesn't work anymore. I know that I probably couldn't use that mic, but I have wished MANY times that I couldn't pick it up and use it as a PA.

Thoughts?

Most CB radios have a switch to toggle to PA mode. Even if your radio doesn't work as a CB, maybe the PA portion might. You'll need to hook up a speaker to test.
