That's exactly what I have now. Bought my first unit in 05 and it's still working fine, and 3 of the 4 sensors have the original batteries.
I upgraded to the 507+ 10 flow thru sensors when we bought the MH in 13.
I thought that PP unit was a good buy, but DW said no, our TST works fine.

I bought the TireTraker system with 10 sensors and the extender unit for the rear bedroom closet.
1. They had the lowest cost at the time for the number of sensors
2. The sensors are the "cap" type, not the flow-through, so no air can escape from the valve stem.
3. The batteries are customer-replaceable and low cost.
4. The system is easy to program
Works for me!

I've put them on my last two MH's and was thrilled to see they are standard on my newly ordered 2015 Newmar Ventana.

Thanks for the info on the perm mount brass extended stems. I thinks it's better idea. Rather than buying the parts on line and asking a auto shop to install them I might just try a local Firestone tire dealer.

Is it possible to screw the sensor on the inside dually without putting an extension on and running it to the outside?

I think that you have been a very lucky man.
Although I have a tire pressure monitoring system, I was on the fence about really needing it.
Until last winter.
I had sent our tire pressure monitoring system back to the manufacturer for inspection & repairs as/if needed. We received it back on the day we were hitting the road. I decided to wait until we arrived at our next destination to install the tire pressure monitoring system.
That was a mistake.
I checked all tire pressures before we left. We pulled off the road twice that day. Each time I tapped each tire with my hammer and checked the temperature of each tire with my hand. They were all hard and running cool.
At the end of our day on the road we pulled into a truck stop to rest for the night. As we stepped down out of the coach, the passenger front tire was flat! Not just low on air. It was absolutely dead flat. The tire was loose from the rim, and the rim was riding on the tire sidewalls.
You could have knocked me out with a feather!
I shudder every time I think about it, even now as I type this, with the realization that if we had not stopped when we did, my wife and I could have been killed or seriously injured.
So. New steer tires and the tire pressure monitoring system installed, we were back on the road the next day.
So. I will not, I will repeat, I will not consider driving our coach without a tire pressure monitoring system.
Jim

We had travel trailers for years & thought about a TPMS but never bought one. I did all the checks mentioned in this thread at every stop, and to tell you the truth, I was lucky!
After reading all these comments, we're not taking the Allegro out until we install a TPMS. This moves to the top of my Christmas list!
Thanks to Jim & everyone else who shared their experiences.
Happy camping begins with safety.

After reading all the post saying "I won't leave home without it", its no longer on my Christmas List, ordered the above unit today! Don't think I can drive the coach now until its installed.

Yes. I screwed on my TST flow-throughs by squeezing my hand between the duals. Once you get your hand through the narrow part it's easy to screw on the sensor. A bonus is, the TST flow-through is long enough to add air without an extension to reach it.

Same process here on the inside dully. Really not hard with the 507 Flow thru.

TPMS will NOT give you any warning of a true blowout, only if the pressure is going down or the tire temp is too high. If you damage a tire and pick up a nail you will be warned in enough time to get off the road.

What is a "true blowout"?
Blowouts are usually caused by low pressure to start with or a loss of pressure while driving (due to a nail, etc). It's not common for a properly inflated tire to simply blow up.
With a TPMS, you are far less likely to have a blowout since you will not be operating with low pressure.
